April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star American is part of a select set of females who've had medals won in more than one Olympics. Alix-Klineman will be competing with April Ross in Tokyo in order to claim her third gold in the next couple of days. Ross aims to earn her Olympic first gold medal, however, she also hopes for more. Since she's 39 years old and has a long way to go, this could be her last chance. Her optimism is that she will be able to win top awards. If we perform at our very highest or play well I feel like we can get that gold medal Ross stated on NBC Boston. "I'm also going to try some luck." Ross was born in California in Costa Mesa, California in 1982. She lived here with her mother, father and sibling. The athletic pursuits she pursued was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of activities. When she was a student in the prep school, she competed in basketball, indoor volleyball and track. Though she excelled when playing indoors but it was apparent that her skills were above average. According to her bio, she played an outside blocker as well as a middle hitting volleyball player during her senior year at high school. She was awarded one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999 for her achievements. She also captured the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Even though Ross Klineman and Ross are in the spotlight since the year 2017, Klineman was already a big-time participant on the beaches long before their pairing. She actually won several major championships while playing using two partners, among them a volleyball icon. From 2007 until 2013, she was a team with Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Together with Kessy Ross, she won a World Title in 2009 when she competed internationally. In the 2012 Olympic Games, they won a gold medal. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team along with Kerri Jennings won the gold. The fate of the matter was that Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. The team won bronze in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. Ross participated in the USC Trojans in college after graduating from in high school. She had a great run in the NCAA tournament. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she earned Pac-10 as well as NCAA All-American Freshman of Year honors and was an All-American. The Trojans made it to the Final Four. During her sophomore year she suffered a tremendous personal setback but managed to repeat as an All-American. The two years following her she led the Trojans to the top of the mountain and won consecutive national titles. Ross was an excellent player on the court, and was awarded the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female volleyball player at the college level. Ross majored in the field of international relations in USC. Margie Ross was not able to see Ross become the highest beach volleyball levels. Ross's mother Margie died in 2001 when Ross was still in the midst of being a USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. She continues to cherish her mother who died. Margie continues to be an inspiration on and off of the shore.
